Profanity filtering, explicit image checks, adult-site blocking, and safe-search enforcement happen inside your browser. Page content is processed locally so the extension can remove or block unsafe material.
The extension may store settings, enabled profiles, custom words, whitelist entries, filtering statistics, usage summaries, and recent activity in Chrome storage on your device.
Safe Browse asks for permissions such as storage, tabs, web navigation, alarms, context menus, and host access so it can filter pages, block known adult domains, enforce safe search, and open extension screens.
If you export dashboard data, Safe Browse creates a local JSON download for you. Activity logs and extension settings can be cleared from the extension interface or by removing the extension from Chrome.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page. Continued use of Safe Browse after an update means the revised policy applies from that date forward.
